Coda Codec Pack - FAQ

  1. Why is it so small?

Coda codec pack contains only the essential codecs required to decode all the new releases. There are no codec-overlappings, meaning, no two codecs installed decode the same material. That also means that Coda Codec Pack causes no codec-conflicts.
  2. I've installed Coda and now I can't watch any video!

It is a very common mistake people make to install Coda Codec Pack when they already have another pack installed. You must remove all previously installed codecs before installing Coda. If you know your way around "Registry Editor" we recommend that you delete all the entries left in Windows registry after uninstallation of the aforementioned codecs. After you got a clean system, install Coda Codec Pack. You might also want to try reinstalling DirectX.
  3. I downloaded Coda Codec Pack and ViPlay and I still cannot watch any VCD/SVCD. Why?

You need to download ViPlay with Gabest's DirectShow filters - namely CD-XA DirectShow filter.
  4. Why doesn't Coda Codec Pack contain filters to decode OGM and Matroska content?

The author of this pack says that "not enough people use this formats". We agree if we are speaking about Matroska that is not currently widely used (because of it's early development stages) but not if we are talking about OGM, which is used a lot these days. Unfortunately, we were unable to persuade the author of this pack to include this filters. If you want, you can contact him yourself, his e-mail can be found in Coda Codec Packs's official website.
